Florence: Duomo Complex - Baptistery & Opera del Duomo Museum Guided Tour

1 hour and 30 minutes

Easy

Visit the famous Baptistery and Museo dell'Opera del Duomo with our certified guide. Discover the Cathedral and all its paintings.

The Duomo Square offers a breathtaking view, especially at sunset, when the sun's rays "light up" the polychrome marble of the buildings that form the religious complex of the city. The chromatic homogeneity (green, white, and red) beautifully harmonizes a stylistic variety.

The stylistic differences can be explained by the fact that the construction works went on for about four centuries. The Baptistery began to be built in the middle of the 11th century, while the Dome was completed by Filippo Brunelleschi in the middle of the 15th century. The Dome, with its imposing size, dominates the whole square.

Following chronological order, the visit to the religious centre of Florence starts with the Baptistery. With our Certified Guide you will have the opportunity to admire, the stunning Byzantine mosaics of the vault and, on the outside, the masterpiece by Lorenzo Ghiberti, the east door of the Baptistery, commonly called "the Gate of Paradise".

The final destination of the tour will take us to the museum of "Opera del Duomo" where you will admire up close works of high value from the artistic heritage of the religious complex.

Enjoy a visit with a licensed guide to the most important buildings in the heart of Florence's historic center: the Baptistery and the Opera del Duomo Museum.

With the same tickets used for the tour you can visit the Cathedral and the Crypt at your own peace.
